Penyelenggara Academy Awards atau Oscar 2024 telah mengumumkan daftar nominasi untuk sejumlah kategori pada ajang penghargaan film bergengsi itu. Terdapat 10 film yang masuk nominasi kategori film terbaik atau Best Pictures pada Oscar 2024.
FIlm terbaru Christopher Nolan, Oppenheimer, memimpin dengan 13 nominasi pada Oscar 2024, termasuk pada kategori Best Picture.
Poor Things berada di urutan kedua dengan 11 nominasi, disusul Killers of the Flower Moon (10 nominasi) dan Barbie (delapan nominasi).
Film-film tersebut akan berkompetisi di kategori Best Picture bersama American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, The Holdovers, Maestro, Past Lives, dan The Zone of Interest.
Berbeda dengan tahun-tahun sebelumnya, penyelenggara Oscar tahun ini menetapkan standar representasi dan inklusi bagi film yang layak masuk nominasi Best Picture.
Film-film tersebut harus melibatkan kelompok masyarakat yang selama ini masih kurang mendapatkan representasi di dunia perfilman, seperti perempuan dan kelompok etnis tertentu.
Oscar tahun ini akan menjadi gelaran yang ke-96. Puncak acara akan diselenggarakan pada 10 Maret 2024 di The Dolby Theatre di Ovation Hollywood dan akan disiarkan secara langsung melalui kanal ABC.
